Tatsuro Yamashita - For You

The one and only Tatsuro Yamashita. The husband of Mariya Takeuchi who made Plastic Love, no less.

There's something about this album. It's not the most flashy, but every song here is amazing. And there's an innocence to them, some of them are very upbeat, others are a little more nostalgic. But in the end it's a collection of songs that is just perfect to make you feel at ease and a little happier. Where you often catch yourself singing "MORNING GLORYYYY, itsumo itsumo surely", or the "Music Book" hook. And honestly, the starting riff of the album is legendary among City Pop albums.

I think this is the perfect album to get into City Pop. If you like this you can be sure there's a lot out there for you to discover.
